The 8 Best Salt Caves near Minneapolis and St. Paul

best salt caves twin cities

Have you heard about Salt Caves?

They’re my latest obsession.

Halotherapy, aka Salt Therapy, involves breathing air in a spa-like salt room. The salt particles help improve your breathing, nourish your skin, and leave you feeling so relaxed.

We are lucky to have a few options for these salt caves around the Twin Cities. Check out my six favorites!

Map of the Best Salt Caves near the Twin Cities

Awaken For Wellness & The Salt Room (Woodbury, MN)

With three locations in the Twin Cities, Awaken for Wellness is one of the largest health spa businesses in the area and a St. Paul favorite. Recently, they acquired The Salt Room in Woodbury, expanding their services to include 45-minute salt cave therapy sessions.

Their cozy, private salt caves are the perfect spot to chill out and soak in the negative ions, either solo or with a group. Their Express Room seats two, and their other rooms sit 5-8 guests comfortably.

Awaken also allows children to attend sessions for just $5 and has weekly salt yoga sessions.

Just for Me Spa (Stillwater, MN)

For the most authentic salt cave experience in the Twin Cities Metro, travel the short drive east to downtown Stillwater to see the salt room at Just for Me Spa.

Just for Me owners designed the room to look and feel like European salt caves, with more than 16,000 pounds of Himalayan salt bricks forming the walls and more than 8,000 pounds of pharmaceutical-grade loose salt on the floor. No doubt, this is the most Insta-worthy spot on this list.

45-minute halotherapy sessions include a zero-gravity chair, relaxing music, a warm sherpa or Turkish blanket, and plenty of “aaaahhhh” moments.

Pure Serenity Wellness Center (Hastings, MN)

Located in downtown Hastings, Pure Serenity Wellness Center is the only spa in town to advertise the added benefits of selenite lamps in their salt room.

With space for 12-14 people, it’s also one of the bigger spaces to enjoy a halotherapy session.

Regular sessions start at $35 with unlimited monthly session packages available.

Salt Cave Minneapolis (Minneapolis)

Beginners and salt cave experts will find the experience at Salt Cave Minnesota one of the best in the area. The first salt cave to arrive in Minnesota, husband and wife team Scott & Jenni brought the latest Himalayan-style halotherapy innovations to our state. As a result, you’ll find state-of-the-art salt rooms, special group sessions, classes like salt cave yoga, and plenty of zen to go around.

Salt Cave Minnesota also operates “Salt Cave Mobile,” a fully operational, on-location salt room. The staff arrives with everything you need for a luxury, salt cave therapy session wherever you are. (We haven’t tried one, but we think it’d be a unique touch for corporate events or bachelorette parties.)

SALT Spa & Salon (Minneapolis)

SALT is one of the most indulgent ways we can think of spending a spa day.

Start with a facial, hair cut, or nails in their full-service salon and spa. Then, follow it up with a 45-minute therapy session in a private Himalayan salt room or one of their salt room massage packages. Finally, wrap up the day with coffee, tea, and small bites in their onsite cafe.

Located on Excelsior Boulevard, not far from downtown Minneapolis, St. Louis Park, and Edina, it’s one of the top girls’ day destinations in town.

The Cave Salt Yoga & Spa (Wayzata, MN)

Our favorite for its small-town boutique spa feel, The Cave offers salt yoga, salt therapy, and full-service spa treatments.

The Cave is one of the best spots to create a custom salt cave experience exactly to suit your needs. Their private salt sessions for 1-6 people can include add-ons like meditation, sound bath, and yoga/stretch.

  • Address: 2354 Wilshire Boulevard, Mound, MN 55364

Other Salt Spas in Greater Minnesota

If you find yourself in need of a halotherapy session in Greater Minnesota or are looking for a weekend getaway destination, there are still a few options to enjoy a relaxing salt spa session outside the Twin Cities Metro.

Bella Vita Salt Caves (St. Cloud, MN)

The tag line at Bella Vita is where “it’s okay to be a little salty.”

Located in St. Cloud, Bella Vita offers a variety of salt cave experiences, including 40-minute sessions in their Ocean themed cave, parties, and wellness classes.

Epic Nutrition  (Cloquet, MN)

The only salt room in northern Minnesota, Epic Nutrition in Cloquet offers halotherapy treatments along with a variety of other health and wellness therapies.

Their $20 sessions are also some of the most affordable in Minnesota.
